Noticeboard

We are delighted to announce that patients of our practice have started to be invited for the Covid-19 vaccination. The programme rollout is phased to ensure vaccine deliveries, logistics and staffing are robustly implemented and consequently, in line with national guidance, we are only inviting those at high clinical risk over the age of 80 to come for vaccines first. As you can appreciate, this first cohort of patients is a lot of people in our local community that we need to contact. Please be assured that we are working tirelessly to telephone patients who are eligible to make vaccination appointments as soon as they are available.

We ask all of you in our practice community to please be patient and wait for your call. Our phones are incredibly busy with poorly patients seeking medical advice and treatment at this time of year and we must ask that you do not call us to enquire about the Covid-19 vaccination. As more vaccine is delivered, more people from other eligible cohorts will be contacted and invited for vaccination in due course. You may find it helpful to read more information about the Doncaster vaccination programme rollout and FAQs on the NHS Doncaster CCG website: https://www.doncasterccg.nhs.uk/your-care/coronavirus-latest-news-and-information/covid-19-vaccine/

Thank you all for your patience and understanding whilst our staff work hard to ensure the vaccination programme rollout is a success across the Doncaster South Primary Care Network.

NHS Doncaster CCG

The Doncaster Clinical Commissioning Group (DCCG) is a formal sub-committee of the NHS South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw board. They are a clinically led committee, which is working alongside NHS Doncaster to effectively and efficiently commission health services for the people of Doncaster. The DCCG came together as a group, following the Government’s ‘Liberating the NHS’ white paper, to represent patients of Doncaster with a single voice as clinical commissioners.

DCCG does not have a legal standing but has been given delegated responsibility for budgets, by NHS South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, that pay for healthcare for around 300,000 people in Doncaster. DCCG have an ambition to be solely responsible for allocating over £550 million each year from April 2013.

Their purpose is to ensure that by April 2013 there is a Clinical Commissioning Group accredited by the new NHS Commissioning Board able to provide services that improve health and reduce heath inequalities in the borough.

For further information see the DCCG Section of the NHS Doncaster website, including details of Committee meetings.
